Tanisha Out is the head designer at Society Floral, a boutique floral studio based in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Raised in a creative family of designers and musicians, Tanisha grew up in the lush vacation destination of the Shuswap region of BC. She began planning weddings and baking cakes for friends for fun, which led to eventually working in wedding planning and design on a more professional level. It was during this time that she would realize that her favourite part of the process was floral design.
She began her floral training in 2012 in Vancouver at the Maureen Sullivan Floral Design School. Not one to shy away from adventure, she and her husband relocated to China for a year, where she continued her training and worked in a flower shop in Shenzhen. She relocated to Canada in the summer of 2014 where she officially launched Society Floral. Although trained in a variety of floral design techniques including traditional and woodland, Tanisha is especially passionate about creating asymmetrical, modern garden style arrangements as made popular by designers like Amy Merrick, Sarah Winward and Amy Osaba. She has taken workshops under these designers and others in order to perfect this unique style.
Tanisha loves working one-on-one with her clients, creating the vision together, or helping to facilitate the vision they already have in mind. Her firsthand experience working with wedding and event planners, and being a recent bride herself, gives her a perspective that allows her to ensure the floral design pairs with every aspect of the wedding’s aesthetic. As much as she loves flowers and the design process, nothing brings her more joy than witnessing her client's faces when they see their floral dreams come to life.
Specializing in weddings and events in The Okanagan and Lower Mainland regions of British Columbia, Tanisha also takes on a limited number of destination events per year.
